The Protea Group was formed in 1990 and has connected many South Africans living in Singapore since.
Why a club?
Singaporian legislation requires that whenever more than three people gather for a formal meeting they need to be registered as a society. The Protea Group is registered as a society and this provides a legal meeting place for us and our subgroups.
Our membership is S$60 per year. The fees cover the cost of admin, society registration, the publishing of our quarterly magazine that gets distributed to all Protea members, our annual Boerewors Braai and other social events.
